As we entered Week 3, our research efforts intensified with a combination of secondary research and primary research methods like body-storming and artefact analysis. However, we recognised a critical gap in our understanding: how do humans actually perceive AI?

We made the decision to employ additional research techniques such as in-person surveys, directed storytelling, and online surveys. We aimed to gain valuable insights that would enhance our understanding of the human-AI dynamic and inform the development of our project.

<aside> 💭 Our primary objective was to delve into the realm of emotions that arise during interactions between humans and AI and explore how these interactions are integrated into our everyday lives.

Directed Storytelling

Directed storytelling allowed us to understand peoples interactions with AI —— the conversations recorded were not just focused on ‘sound’ but AI as a whole and how they feel about it taking over —— is it boon or a bane?

The central themes that emerged from the directed storytelling revolved around AI's role in accomplishing quick tasks but also highlighted its perceived lack of human touch.

Granary Square Research

preparation for the granary square research —— we designed a bright poster that could help attract people to talk to us and prepared a few question prompts to carry out the conversation with people
